About Andrew:

In 2018, Andrew started the maple season with 80 taps after growing curious in the process and feeling a desire to reignite the family reunions.  Using his engineering background, he built his first evaporator from an old heating oil tank which he used for another 4 season. In 2021, he designed and built and 18th century style timber frame sugar house now used on his property from lumber he harvested, milled, and chiseled himself.  Not a single nail was used in the frame!

5 seasons later, Andrew is managing 400 taps, and has formed a team of local sap collectors from around town who tap the few Maple trees in their back yards.

His most favorite aspect of this hobby is that it brings him closer to the community.  From the excitement seen in the children, to the friendly hellos from the families, it’s helped him to become an active member of our community.
